Objectives
-
To establish, coordinate and provide a pest management
information program in Florida to function as the state contact for the
integrated pest management information network established by the Southern
Region Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Center located at North Carolina
State University in Raleigh, NC.
-
To establish an advisory committee for the Florida Pest
Management Information Program composed of pest managers, growers, commodity
groups, consultants and other stakeholders representative of the diversity
of capabilities, institutions and pest management issues found in Florida.

To facilitate and support the production of crop profiles,
pest management strategic plans and similar pest management documents for
important Florida agricultural commodities as identified by federal regulatory
agencies.

To strengthen the connection between pest management
programs (i.e., Integrated Pest Management,
InterregionalProject 4 (Minor Crop Pest Control),
UF Pesticide Information Office, and agricultural and other private
stakeholders within Florida.

To serve as an information resource for the Southern
Region IPM Center and the public and private sectors on current pest management
practices, problems and issues affecting agricultural commodities produced
in Florida.
