Pesticide Registrations and Actions

Other Actions

  • The USDA published an announcement in June announcing durianthe clearance of import of fresh tropical fruit from Thailand into the U.S.A following irradiation procedures.  Potentially, Thai pineapple, rambutan, lychee, longan, mango, and mangosteens may be available by September.  The only fruit Thailand has been permitted to send fresh to the United States previously is the malodorous durian.  (International Herald Tribune, 6/27/07).
  •  The comment period regarding the fumigant risk mitigation options is being extended until September 3.  Please contact the PIO if you have questions regarding this or any other regulatory action.  (SRIPMC memo, 7/12/07).
  •  All agricultural operations, large or small, are important to the USDA, and it is imperative to participate in the National Agricultural Statistics Service data collection.  People can call 800 892-1660 to get a form or visit www.nass.usda.gov/counts  (NASS letter of 6/28/07).
