Non-Food Related Actions
- On June 7, the FDACS registered the fungicide triticonazole (Trinity®) for control of certain diseases on residential and commercial turfgrass, golf courses, and sod farms. The EPA registration number for the BASF product is 7969-257. (FDACS PREC Agenda, 7/12/07).
- On June 7, the FDACS registered the insecticide metaflumizone (Promeris®) for use on kittens/cats to control fleas. The EPA registration number for the Fort Dodge Animal Health product is 80490-3. (FDACS PREC Agenda, 7/12/07).
- On June 27, the FDACS authorized the special local need registration SLN FL-070003 for the use of Cleanwave® herbicide (aminopyralid + fluroxypyr) for control of dogfennel in pastures and hayfields. The EPA registration number for the Dow AgroSciences product is 62719-525. (FDACS letter of 6/28/07).
- The EPA has approved a temporary exemption from the requirement of tolerance for the residues of the tobacco mild green mosaic tobamovirus on grass and grass hay when applied/used as a bioherbicide against the weed tropical soda apple. The exemption will expire on June 30, 2009. (Federal Register, 6/27/07).
- A supplemental label has appeared for at least one dimethoate product (Dimethoate 400 from Loveland Products) allowing the use in a wide variety of nursery plants if the grower has experience with the insecticide.
