Call for Strategic Pest Management Teams

In addition to the certification, licensing, and newsletter activities, the Pesticide Information Office strives to document pest management needs from Floridian or Caribbean stakeholders.  Since this region produces a multitude of specialty crops, it is not unusual that certain crops are not represented in current pest management scenarios. 

The PIO has generated pest management strategic plans (PMSPs) for strawberry, watermelon, eggplant, okra, and the tropical fruits.  The strawberry and watermelon PMSPs have been revised and are available on EDIS (http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/index.html) for viewing.

The PIO welcomes any group of stakeholders that would like to convene a meeting to put together strategic pest management plans for their crop(s).  Please contact Mark Mossler at the PIO if you need further information about the plans.
