Pesticide Registrations and Actions
- On July 12, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) authorized the experimental use of the herbicide quinclorac in retention ponds, lakes, and other non-flowing waters where watering/drinking/irrigation are prohibited for control of aquatic weeds. The permit is EPA EUP No. 7969-EUP-40 and is authorized through December 31, 2008. (FDACS letter of 7/12/07).

- On July 20, the FDACS issued an exemption from the requirement of obtaining an experimental use permit for methyl soyate use on water bodies as a larvicide for mosquitoes. (FDACS letter, 7/20/07).
- A number of SLN registrations were canceled at the federal level for non-payment of registration fees. The PIO believes it has found other SLNs or Section 3 registrations for all but SLN FL-940001 which is the use of Bayluscide® for control of snails in freshwater ornamental fish ponds. Please contact the PIO if concerned. (Federal Register, 7/25/07).
